Let us tell you a little something about our long lasting obsession with grilling peanut butter sandwiches...

For this recipe we teamed up with our friends at Hutspot in Amsterdam. For the launch of the concept store's new blog "Sharing dishes with...", they asked us to come up with a killer meal. Of course, we could not resist. Peanut butter on warm toast is good, but making just a little but more effort by turning it into a grilled sandwich full of flavors is a winner combo; it is fast, serves your hungry needs and can be done in so many ways. Are you ready for this? Let's go and spice things up!

We recently gave this classic an Asian twist by adding sesame, coriander and paksoi. It enhances the sandwich with very rich flavors that will make this simple dish rise to a new level. All you need is 10 minutes, a grill, a frying pan and a couple of extra ingredients. Oh, and as final touch we added fresh (and local) kimchi from Oh Na Mi Kimchi; Korean fermented cabbage combined with other veggies and spices. Sandwich heaven...

This is what you need:

  • NUTORIOUS chili sambal peanut butter

  • 1/2 loaf of Turkish bread (1/4 per serving)

  • Paksoi

  • Olive oil (1 tbsp.)

  • Sesame oil (1 tsp.)

  • Sesame seeds (1 tsp.)

  • Garlic (1 clove)

  • Coriander

  • Kimchi

Wash the paksoi and cut into big pieces. Bothe the stem and leaf can be used. Two or three pieces are enough. Put a tablespoon of olive oil and a teaspoon of sesame oil in a pan and fry the paksoi, garlic and sesame seeds for about 5 minutes until the leaf of the paksoi has shrunk. Meanwhile, place a quarter of turkish bread in the grill until the crust is deliciously crispy. Afterwards, cut it open and provide the lover half with Nutorious chili sambal peanut butter. All the more, the better. Add the fried paksoi, garlic and sesame seeds as a next layer. As a final touch; add coriander and kimchi on top.

That's it! Enjoy your awesome peanut butter grilled sandwich.
